About this Chart
Network REV (Real Economic Value) is the measure of user demand to transact and is the "top line" metric of a blockchain. For Sui, Network REV consists of computation gas fees, the non-refundable portion of storage fees, and out-of-protocol Shio MEV payments.
Computation Gas Fees: The transaction fees users pay for execution on Sui. This captures the computation-cost portion of user-facing, non-system transaction gas fees.
Storage Fee Sink: The non-refundable portion of Sui storage fees. Users pay storage fees when transactions create or mutate onchain objects and may receive storage rebates when objects are deleted. Refundable storage deposits and rebate flows are not counted as REV; this item captures the portion retained rather than returned as a rebate.
Shio MEV: Out-of-protocol payments from successful Shio Default Mode bids. Searchers submit bids for transaction ordering and bundle inclusion through Shio, with accepted bid amounts counted as MEV-related payments.
