Metric definition

Network REV is the sum of the revenue components below. It excludes block rewards and RUNE issuance, as well as pass-through inbound and outbound gas costs that are not retained by the THORChain ecosystem.

Revenue components

• Swap Fees: Liquidity-sensitive fees paid by swappers and deducted from swap output. THORChain also calls these liquidity fees. They are measured before revenue is distributed and are not RUNE incentives or emissions.

• Outbound Fee Surplus: The positive portion of outbound fees remaining after reimbursing the external-chain gas cost of delivering assets to users. Only the retained surplus is included in Network REV.

• THORName Registration Fees: Protocol fees charged when users register or extend THORNames, THORChain's human-readable names for addresses.

• Frontend Affiliate Fees: Optional fees configured by wallets and other swap interfaces and paid to affiliates or referrers that route user activity through THORChain.
