Fig is Co-Founder of Squid, a secure cross-chain router that enables interoperability between blockchains and applications. His ambition is to enable frictionless Web3 user experiences by abstracting away the complexity of multichain infrastructure and cross-chain transaction flows. Fig has always been fascinated by elaborate systems, which is what initially drew him to medicine. After med school, Fig found himself needing to scratch his creative itch more than he could treating patients, so he moved to New York and taught himself to code, took on UX design projects, and performed as a musician. Through friends, he became engrossed in another complex system, finance, and eventually took a position as an analyst. At that time Fig first learned about blockchains and realized just how valuable they could be for automating many of the inefficient processes they confronted on a regular basis in traditional finance. In 2020, he took the leap into the blockchain space, and in 2021 he and his Co-Founders began building Squid.
